Day 1 — Landing day, from the supermarket to the sunset
4 stops · by car · 4 h 30 min · ± 40 min travelling
Do the errands between two and three, when it is too hot for a beach anyway, and keep the water and the view for the end of the afternoon. Everything below is inside Kralendijk and Belnem, under 15 kilometres (9 miles) in total, and nothing that needs navigating on your first day.

Afternoon
1 Van den Tweel 45 minThe least holiday-shaped thing you can do on landing day, and the reason the rest of the week runs smoothly: there is nothing to buy at Klein Bonaire, at Pink Beach or inside Washington Slagbaai.
2.2 km · ± 5 min

2 Te Amo Beach 1 h 15 minTen minutes south, a flat sand entry and toilets, and the gentlest first swim on the island. Bachelor's Beach, five minutes further, has better coral and no facilities at all.
8.3 km · ± 20 min

3 Seru Largu 30 minA paved road up to 123 metres, free and unfenced, with Kralendijk, the southern plain, Klein Bonaire and on a clear day Curaçao all in one view — fifteen minutes here does more for your sense of the island than any map.

Evening
4 Karel’s Beach Bar 2 hBack in town before dark, because the first night is not the night to be driving unlit roads with goats on them. This one is on stilts over the water, facing west. Sunset runs from about 18:20 in November to 19:05 in midsummer, with only twenty minutes of usable light after it.
