About Voyager Bonaire Car Rental
Voyager Bonaire Car Rental is a car rental company at Kaya Industria 23 in Kralendijk, on the small estate a minute from Flamingo Airport where most of the island's rental firms have their yards.
Being on that estate is the reason to book here rather than in town: you land, walk out, and are handed the keys within a few minutes of the terminal instead of taking a taxi somewhere first. Almost every visitor to Bonaire hires a car, because there is no bus network worth planning around and the distances — twenty minutes to Lac Bay, forty to the north — are too long to walk or cycle in this heat.
The fleet runs from compact cars to SUVs. The office keeps weekday hours of roughly 08:00 to 17:00 and shorter on Saturday, but delivery and collection are arranged around your flight, which is the arrangement worth making for a late arrival. Reckon on around forty dollars a day for a compact, more for an SUV or pick-up. As everywhere on Bonaire, ask what the deductible is — five hundred to a thousand dollars is normal unless you buy full cover — and whether the agreement covers the unpaved roads in Washington Slagbaai.
You have the vehicle. Now the route.
With a car the whole island opens up, and the island route is the day most people remember afterwards: north, east and south in one loop, with the story at every stop.
