About Dunkerbeck Pro Center

Dunkerbeck Pro Center is a windsurfing centre at Kaminda Sorobon 10 on Lac Bay, twenty minutes east of Kralendijk, founded by Björn Dunkerbeck — forty-two times a world champion, more than anyone in the sport.

That name is not decoration. Where the neighbouring schools are set up around teaching beginners in the shallows, this is the one to look at if you already sail and want to get better: clinics, coaching, and a rental fleet that runs to the smaller, faster kit that only makes sense once you can use it. Freestyle riders come here because Lac Bay stays flat under strong wind, which is a rare combination.

Best conditions are December to August at fifteen to twenty-five knots, strongest between noon and three. The centre is open daily in season, roughly 09:00 to 17:00. Prices for gear go by the hour or by the day, and coaching costs a session rate or a clinic rate, so ask what you are booking. Reckon on half a day at least. Beginners are welcome too — the bay is shallow enough for anyone — but the reason to choose this centre over its two neighbours is what happens after the first week.
