About Bonaire Windsurf Place

The three centres share the same bay, so what to plan around is not which one but when you go. The trade winds run strongest from December to August at fifteen to twenty-five knots; September to November is gentler at twelve to fifteen, which is worse for an experienced sailor and better for a first week. Within a day the pattern repeats: light in the morning, building through midday, strongest between twelve and three as the land heats up.

So: book a beginner's lesson for the morning and rent gear for the afternoon, and you have used both halves of the day for what they are good for. Prices for gear go by the hour or by the day, with lessons charged separately; reckon on the same order as a dive or a boat trip here rather than something cheaper. Half a day, or a full one with a break out of the sun. Twenty minutes back to town, so bring what you need — Sorobon has a couple of places to eat and little else.
