About Something Special
Hand-painted driftwood is what it is known for, alongside artwork, ornaments and gifts that are actually made here rather than shipped in by the container. If you want a souvenir that is not the same one sold in every harbour in the Caribbean, this is the shop. Prices run from a few dollars for a small painted piece upward, and because the work is handmade no two items are quite the same — if you see the one you want, take it.
The opening hours are the thing to know: Thursday from 10:00 to 17:00, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00, and on Sunday when there is a cruise ship in port. Monday to Wednesday it is closed. Fifteen minutes is plenty — it is a small shop — but you have to be there on the right day.
