The long-term hire is what sets it apart. Most rental firms here are built around a week's holiday; if you are staying a month, working a season, or living on the island between cars, a monthly scooter rate is a fraction of what a car costs and you are not paying for a vehicle to sit outside. That is a real market on Bonaire, where a lot of people arrive for one season and stay for three.
Reckon on twenty-five to forty dollars a day for a short hire, considerably less per day over a month. A deposit of a hundred to three hundred dollars is standard, usually on a credit card, and you need to be eighteen with a car licence. Helmets are compulsory and normally included. The office keeps weekday hours of roughly 08:00 to 17:00 and is shorter on Saturday, but delivery to the airport can be arranged around your flight, which for a first arrival saves the taxi.

The south coast route is built for exactly this: half a day, paved road the whole way, and the story starting by itself the moment you reach a stop. Golf carts are not allowed into Washington Slagbaai and the unpaved north is not made for them, so the south is where a cart earns its keep.
