Stadscafé Het Consulaat

The building is half the reason to go: shuttered windows, high ceilings and a courtyard, the kind of place that used to be a consulate and now sells beer. The kitchen is broad — Dutch café dishes alongside international ones — and the bar is one of the few in town that stays open late, until one in the morning.

The café runs seven days a week from 17:00 to 01:00, but the restaurant keeps shorter hours: Monday to Friday from 17:00 through dinner service, closed at the weekend.
