Jardin de Amor

Jardin de Amor is a restaurant at Kaya Caracas 6 in the centre of Kralendijk, in a walled garden set back from the street.

The garden is the reason to book here. Kralendijk has plenty of tables at the water, but very few away from it, and an enclosed courtyard with planting and low light is a different evening from a terrace on the boulevard — quieter, no traffic, no cruise passengers walking past. The kitchen is European with Caribbean influences and the menu is short, which usually means it is cooked to order.

Open Monday to Friday from 17:30 until midnight; the kitchen is closed at the weekend, which catches people out. Reserve on +599 790 1818 — the garden holds a limited number of tables and it is well reviewed. Prices are at the upper end for Kralendijk. Reckon on two hours, and go at dusk when the planting is lit.
