It is a snack bar rather than a restaurant, and that is the appeal: marinated spare ribs, chicken, satay, mixed grill and fish off the grill, in portions that defeat most people, eaten at a plastic table or taken away. Bonaireans and visitors queue at the same window. The homemade sauces are what people come back for.

The hours are the thing to plan around: open Friday, Saturday and Sunday only, from 18:00 to 22:00, plus Sunday lunch from 12:00 to 14:00. Ring +599 796 4783 to order ahead — takeaway is the faster route on a busy Saturday. Prices are among the lowest on the island for a full meal, which together with the portion sizes is why the queue is as much local as visitor. Half an hour if you take it away, an hour if you stay.
