Amazing Bonaire

Amazing Bonaire runs cave tours and night snorkelling on Bonaire, picking up in and around Kralendijk. Both trips go somewhere you genuinely cannot reach on your own.

The caves are on private land and kept locked: a walk and a scramble past stalactites, then a swim in a freshwater pool underground. The night snorkel is the other one — an hour in the dark water where the bioluminescent plankton lights up around your hands. Neither needs experience, but both need reasonable mobility and a head for enclosed or dark spaces.

The cave tour runs about two and a half hours and starts from around seventy-five dollars. Weather does not matter underground, which makes it the obvious choice on a grey day. Bring closed shoes with grip, swimwear and a towel, and book ahead — groups are small. The night snorkel goes out around dusk and needs a dark, moonless evening to be worth it, so it is weather-dependent in a way the caves are not.
