Smooth Operators

Smooth Operators is a smoothie and juice bar a few minutes from the centre of Kralendijk, run from a truck with a drive-through where the order comes down a slide to your car window.

The drive-through is not a gimmick on an island this hot: you stay in the air conditioning and a cold smoothie arrives through the window. Fresh fruit smoothies are the core, alongside juices, light healthy plates and cocktails, and the truck also turns up at the Cruise Market, at Taste of Bonaire and at private events.

That mobility is the thing to plan around: the fixed spot runs Wednesday to Friday from around midday, and on Saturdays it is usually somewhere else on the island. Check their Facebook page before driving over, because the hours differ from what the map services list. Reckon on five to ten dollars and ten minutes. Parking is easy, which for a drive-through is rather the point — you do not get out of the car at all if you would rather not.
